The World Development Movement has come up with a fun way to talk about some serious issues. If you or someone you know is a football fan with a conscience this might be just what they’re looking for. Euro 2008 kicks off on Saturday the 7th of June. It’s Europe’s biggest festival of football. But this time England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland didn’t qualify. So who do you cheer for? What about the coolest flag design (probably Portugal)? Maybe the best holiday destination or food (got to be Italy)? How about supporting the team that gives the most aid to poor countries? Or perhaps cheering on the country that spends the most on healthcare?

WhoshouldIcheerfor.com ranks all the teams playing in Euro 2008 to find the most supportable - based on a whole load of facts and figures - the results might surprise you!. You can find out more about the stats we used, and download more information on our issues page , and have your say on our Facebook group. Of course our supportability ranking isn’t an overall ranking of how ‘good’ or ‘bad’ we think any country is but it does throw up some suprises.
All the best,

Murray Benham, Head of Campaigns WDM
PS there’s still time to book for our national campaigner convention in Uttoxeter and we’re still adding videos to the HEAT video wall
