Organic Bytes: What Would The World Be Like Without OCA?

This week, we’re taking a break from the usual Organic Bytes newsletter format to thank all of you who have donated to Organic Consumers Association (OCA) in 2008. If you missed our annual “Flashback” issue summarizing the major OCA success stories of 2008, you can read it here to see how your donations have helped fuel a massive amount of positive change.
Some of those success stories include:
* Starbucks going rBGH-free and increasing Fair Trade coffee purchases
* Mars and Nestle agreeing to source ethical chocolate
* Stopping aerial pesticide spraying over populated areas in California
* Forcing Monsanto to dump rBGH
* and so many more…
We want to continue to bring that kind of positive change in 2009, but we can’t do it without your help.
The economic downturn has resulted in grant foundations and business sponsors cutting back funding, as well as significantly reduced private donations. As a result, the OCA is not yet in a spot to meet its funding needs for 2009. In short, if you have not yet donated, the time is now. There are two days left in 2008, and we need to generate significant funding during that time. As always, your donations are tax deductible and will be used to fuel the positive revolution in 2009.
